About

In 1990 I moved my illustrative skills from paper to silk, thus combining two great passions, drawing and textiles

Living in rural Devon, walking, observing and recording the shapes and patterns of the natural world rewards me with daily inspiration. This combined with the vibrant colour and visual spice of foreign travel all contribute to my designs.

Ideas then gathered in concertina sketch books as a myriad of small studies gradually find their way into my designs on stretched silk.

I enjoy the commitment of line drawing on silk, allowing no possibility of correction and then the gentle flow of blending dyes across fine silk threads.

Each piece is my unique creation of vibrant colour.
